LALFIX START Spherical Pea & Lentil

Three-Strain Premium inoculant to fix nitrogen and increase phosphorus available in the rhizosphere

With its honeycomb structure maintaining the growth environment to protect and preserve the three unique strains of bacteria, LALFIX START GRANULAR offers unmatched performance, durability and ease-of-use. Once applied to the soil, the highly-efficient Rhizobium leguminosarum biovar viciae strains will colonize the root promoting early nodulation and N fixation for better crop establishment and enhanced yields. Our proprietary, dual-action phosphorus solubilizer, Bacillus velezensis, contained within each granule, quickly colonizes the root system which allows for the newly available phosphorus to be efficiently taken up by the plant. In fact, the biological contained within LALFIX START GRANULAR is the University benchmark for increased phosphorus availability at all soil pH levels.

This year I used LALFIX Spherical granular inoculant for the first time in some yellow peas and green lentils. We noticed that it flowed really well and that there was no bridging or clumping at all. Normally when you run a granular inoculant in your air drill, when you open the tank, the lid is dripping wet with moisture, but I didn’t notice that at all with the LALFIX Spherical product. We had a trial beside some competitor products and the LALFIX side had a lot heather and bushier looking plant. You could see a line in the field. Unfortunately, we had a heat wave during flower and I think we aborted some pods, but the stand was definitely there. I did noticed a yield increase on my yield monitor of about 3 to 4 bushel on the LALFIX side. Based on what I saw in the trial, I was happy with the product and I plan on using more LALFIX Spherical in the future.

I have used granular inoculants on my farm for six seasons. The inoculants I have tried previously gave me issues with application because of unfavorable clumping of the product and compaction in the air seeder tank. This past season, Lallemand’s Spherical granule solved those issues. Lallemand’s granule calibrated as expected, and the application rate was correct on the acres covered. It was apparent that the Spherical granule was a better flowing product. The result was a consistent application rate because it didn’t clump or compact
