Product details

LALSTOP® CONTANS WG is a biofungicide that targets and destroys sclerotia in contaminated topsoil. By reducing inoculum levels, it breaks the disease cycle and lowers the risk of white mold and stem rot in the next crop cycle, ultimately supporting healthier crops and better yields.

Targeted Pathogens:

  • Sclerotinia sclerotiorum
  • Sclerotinia minor

Modes of Action

  • Following the application of LALSTOP CONTANS WG, its incorporation into the soil allows the contained spores to make contact with the sclerotia. Sclerotia are the survival structures of Sclerotinia fungi and root cause of infection.
  • The germinating spores penetrate these sclerotia through their germ tube and produce a mycelium.
  • This mycelium attacks and destroys the sclerotia from the inside. Infected sclerotia are then unable to generate apothecia or produce mycelium of Sclerotinia spp, lowering the risk of white mold and stem rot in future crops.

Key benefits

  • Based on a naturally occurring fungus that poses minimal risk to growers, consumers, beneficial insects, and the surrounding environment.
  • Flexibility of application: Pre-planting/planting or after harvest (on crop residues).
  • Compatible with most IPM programs.
  • No known risks for resistance due to multiple modes of action.

Rotation Management

Sclerotia are long-term resting spores of Sclerotinia that can survive in soil for up to 10 years when buried with plant debris. Tillage brings them to the surface, triggering germination and disease spread.

In heavily infested fields, applying LALSTOP CONTANS WG reduces sclerotia levels and disease pressure, especially when used in rotation over several years.
